Default "Notches In SW Wind Wing Glass"???

Does anyone know what they are for, i got them from Brattons who in turn got them from A&L and was wondering why they had vertical notches cut into the glass. I called Allen and he is trying to do some research to find out why but was wondering if anyone knew??

Maybe to "index" into the Fulton clamp in windwing brackets so they wouldn' slip out.

That is an odd notch and the only reason I can think of for it is to hold a rear view mirror.

BTW, isn't REAR VIEW mirror redundant?

Fits only when using the Windwing Clamps for closed cars (shown in Bratton's page 107)

Also the glass showed above does not fit on the Fulton set from A&L

..

OK here is the answer, the "notch" is about a 1/2 inch to deep, it is used to sit on the closed car bracket and allow the glass to move forward toward the slant....

That is my recollection.
Bought a set a long time ago but did not install them, sold the brackets but still have the glass.

Maybe someone can post some pictures.

Just looked at the brackets again and there is NO raised area in the bracket for the "notch" to sit into...now it is confusing.
