Default 1933 /34 Grille crankhole cover

My question here is, was the crankhole cover on a 1933/34 grille an authorized Ford accessory?
I have one that is cast in aluminium, never chromed and has a 40-8216 part number on the back.
Is it a later repop or what?
Graham

Aftermarket; not a Ford-released accessory. There were two versions as hand crank hole configuration is quite different year to year.
