Re: Honoring our veterans
For my dad Ken, drafted and served 1951-1953 U.S.M.C. Never went overseas but the stories about boot camp made you cry with laughter. Told me not to join but 18 and a "man" why not? U.S.M.C. 1983-1987. I have some stories too! To all our veterans god bless.

Re: Honoring our veterans
We had a nice Veterans service at the office on Monday. Couple of really special WWII vets there. One was a P51 pilot and another fought at Iwo Jima. It was a special day. Thank you to all that serve our country.

Re: Honoring our veterans
I am very proud to have served and also very proud of all others who served as well. USN '62 to '66. Vietnam service award for Gulf of Tonkin patrol duty in '64 on USS Mansfield DD728. Our patrol group was relieved by the U.S.S. Maddox and the U.S.S. C. Turner Joy, which both later became involved in what is known as the Gulf of Tonkin Crisis, which history tells as two completely different stories.

Re: Honoring our veterans
I was in the UK 2 weeks ago and was visiting the Museum in Hastings when I saw this front page article from a paper in 1964 that was part of a display on the youth Mods and Rockers sub culture of the 60s. The article reported a scrap between the two factions at the Hastings Pier. What piqued my interest was the footnote to the left of this page. What the editor of the day would not have known was how important the reporting in this small footnote was and the consequences of what it reported would have for the 60's Asian conflict. I took a photo of it. I also went to Normandy and did a day tour of the D Day Beaches in the US sector. Picture attached of the US Ranger Memorial at Pointe Au Hoc, Omaha Beach .
Lest we forget. GB
