Columbia 2 speed A-7 differential baffle
Can someone please post a picture of a A-7 differential carrier baffle? Also how it looks installed? It looks like a ring in the heavy cast iron adapter.
Thanks Last edited by uncle buck; 03-25-2020 at 02:03 PM. |

You're in luck I happen to have mine apart. It's just pinched in there.

If I remember correctly, it is staked into the casting. I had 1 casting that it was missing from.

It appears so. I have one it is missing from also, but fortunately I had an extra that had it too. I didn't visualize it being that big around and I had nothing like it loose in my boxes |

Yes, he did his bulletproofing treatment. When I got unit, it was apart and everything was in boxes with a mixture of stuff that doesn't belong. I have been studying the exploded view and trying to sort through everything to take to a friend to be assembled. Thanks for your help |

Re: Columbia 2 speed A-7 differential baffle
The rotating A-17 assembly has paddles on the outside that take the oil and direct it into the A-6 oil passage. This is how the bearing, planetary gears and shafts plus the sun and the clutch get their necessary oil. The A-7 baffle help to hold the oil in place for the paddles on the A-17.
