Default 41 Ford rad support

Looking through my parts yesterday and tried putting the rad support on the 41 frame, but the crossbar on the bottom was wider than the frame. I know with the 46-48's it's a flat piece of stamped steel that mounts right in front of the cross member.

Not exactly flat, more like a channel with flanges, but yes, mounts on each side with two bolts/nuts. Then the radiator support sits over the center hole. A rubber pad goes between them, then bolt comes through botttom, then a spring/washer/ castellated nut and cotter pin on top.
I would have to check if 41 is the same????

this is the brace that came with the 41 frame. It doesn't line up with any holes in the front of the frame

Could it be the wrong brace?

I think Jim is correct, not the right part.
at the earlyfordstore.com you can search for part # 11A 16138-B to see a picture of it..
I think it installs like the '40. i.e. mounts directly to the front cross member w/spring & pad.

Here's the brace in a 40 Ford car. It mounts on the x member with a spring and nut and bolt.

That looks way different than the one he has. And the one he has looks different from 42 to 48. Support cross bar on 42 to 48 is pretty flat.

Is 1941 a one year only?

Topher's picture shows the correct, or very close, part.
It mounts in front of the radiator with the lower brace on the frame. Another brace mounts from the center bolt to the bottom center of the grille chin pan.

I took pictures of pictures so not real clear, sorry.

The bracket is 1941 Only.

It appears to sit on top of the frame immediately in front of the radiator.
attachment appears to be very close to the rear bolt attaching the bumper bracket.
