Smile 59AB cam

Hello all

I bought a 36 tudor with a 59AB. It has the Helmet dist. in it. The person used an early cam with a pressed on gear. I'm replacing the cam with the correct one that uses a bolt on gear. I ordered an aluminum gear and the extension button for the early dist. My question here is will I have to change the timing cover, or will the early one that was on it work okay ?
Would like to know while I have it apart. Thanks Pat

Use the same cover, the button will take up the difference. Walt

Thanks Walt, that's all I need. I thought maybe the new cam gear with bolts would take up more room. Thanks Pat
