35 drums to 36
Good evening all. I know I have read a post dealing with this but I can't find it. I want to know if the drums on a 35 will fit a 36. I'm trying to get rid of the wide five. I have been told that it is just a bolt on change. Sounds good, but I want to do it right. Thanks, Pat

Re: 35 drums to 36
The problem is that the spindles on the '36 are goofy. Well, maybe not "goofy" as such, but they are a one-year-only length that require '36-only front drums. '35 or '37-'40 spindles will bolt-on, allowing you to use '40-'48 front drums. You can use '40-'48 drums on the rear. DD

Re: 35 drums to 36
Rear drum/hubs are bolt on, '35 to '36 and vice versa. Using '35 front drums on a '36 with mechanical brakes, requires the use of '35 spindles. Now if you go with hydraulic brakes, the '37-'40 spindles, '39-'40 backing plates, and '40-'48 drums will also get you to a 5 on 5-1/2" bolt pattern. Depending on which drums and wheels you decide to go with will determine whether or not you need spacer/support rings between drums and wheels.
