Default Gold is where you find it....

drove past this junk pile 100 times probably in my youth hunting ducks and deer.

1930 standard coup .in amazing shape. bottoms of the cowl don't even need patches, nor do the doors. took me 15 min to dig it out

fuel tank isn't even fulla mice or nest or anything. luckiest day in a long long time

They just don't make junk piles like that anymore! More's the pity.

You would be surprised what you find in metal scrap yards. I took a load of old iron stuff to the scrap yard once. Ended up coming home with 3 engines, and a ton of other Model A items...hell, it cost me just to get out of there!

Maybe I should go hunting in the scrapyards. I have not seen a Model A on the side of the road since the late 60s when I was a kid - they had a bunch of old cars piled up at the junkyard that were crushed.

How common are model a engines and parts at salvage yards?

looks really good after I got it home today and washed all the mud grass and tree roots out of it. doors are 27-1/2" wide so it was a coup there isn't even to many holes to weld up. bottoms of the cowl are solid solid. used up all my luck for a while I think.

With those colours, it was probably a sharp looking car!

That is absolutely amazing. When are you going to start the restoration?

” one man’s trash is another man’s treasure “ . I would have walked right by and never gave it a second thought or look. I am glad you were able to recognize it’s value and worth. When completed I would like to know the financial and man hour investment.

Why do you say that? A decent cowl, doors fenders and a hood are a start to building a model a..beater has a cowl,I have the rest, shame he isnt closer Id do business if he was inclined..Preservation of model a fords doesn't just mean fine point restoration,it also means piecing them together with found parts, putting another one back on the road..

well seeing as its farming country, im sure it was most likely made into a truck.so most likely long gone. however the pile is pretty big. there is the remains of a 48 ford truck, and there is also a 24-25 T closed car upside down in the pile to. ill be digging into it a bit just incase
