Default 59a Main bearings replacements

So now sourcing parts for 59A engine rebuild.
Main Bearings:

81A-63305-030 for 2.499" journal 39- 48
1BA-63305-030 for 2.499" journal. 49-53.

Are these bearings the same or are they different?

Thanks

Mainbearings must be for the type of block you use...older has a wider locking tab...-49 up has a smaller.

Appreciate your prompt assistance. Dont want to order from overseas and find out I've screwed up.
Thanks,

Yeah you need the earlier type. the locking tab width is an easy indicator. The width of the web of the block at the rear main is different too. I learnt this the hard way when I assumed a French motor would use 8BA bearings. They dont. They use 59A type.

Yes but sometimes the only source and you need to go with it.
Expect parts now ordered from overseas will be moving at a slower rate.
My crankshaft and block now in lock down for next 4 weeks.

As far as the postal service is concerned there wouldn't be too much difference in shipping from either Sweden or the USA to NZ.

Probably cheaper from Sweden. I find USA postal charges to be the most expensive of anywhere in the world.

Shipping still works atleast...i crated a flathead boatmotor going to south germany today.
A day slower or 2 is fine...just as long as it doesn´t stop completely...

The numbers that are the same identify the parts as main bearings.
The first number tells you what specific car or engine they fit.

The only engine you have to watch out for in those years in the Canadian sourced 69A. It has some different bearings associated with it. The 59A is no problem.
