Another Led tail light question
I'm getting ready to order led 1157 bulbs and I have seen post here where several of you have installed them, so my question is has anyone tested the red vs the white leds and which one works best? They are going on my 39 std and i'm ordering the 1157 BAY15D 6V non-polarity, purchased from Ruiandsion. Thanks John

Ya know, Ken/Alabama's rear lights sure did come-out bright, and I'm pretty sure he stayed with WHITE. It's hard to improve on PRETTY DAMNED GOOD! DD |

Re: Another Led tail light question
Those ARE awfully bright, but they appear mostly white to me (maybe it's just the camera). Perhaps the red ones may be worth trying.

Re: Another Led tail light question
I have to admit, I have "duel" sets of many of the LED lights in my car, just because I wanted to be sure. If the cost of buying both is not prohibitive, then I would recommend you buy a set of both. That having been said, I went with the white as a final decision.

Re: Another Led tail light question
You already have a red lens, so go with the white bulb.

being that the lense are red the red LED's would naturally be dimmer.

Re: Another Led tail light question
Just a note from the posts on this subject a few weeks ago, the LED bulbs that Steiner Tractor sells will not work in a 1947 Ford taillight. (However, is you're also a tractor enthusiast, they sure are a helpful and very pleasant resource for that stuff!!)

Re: Another Led tail light question
Here is a comparison of a white LED with a red LED on the back of my recently acquired 51 Ford. The left side is the new white LED and the right is the red LED that was in the car when a bought it. Quite a difference.
