Default Another Huge Loss to me

Well it’s with a heavy heart I have to report that the man that gave me the inspiration. Work ethic. Knowledge of how to fix anything. Basic mechanical fundamentals. And more than I can say that has rewarded me with the amazing journey through life I have had. Also the success i have had at the highest level of racing including every type of racing leading up to this. He served his apprenticeship at Bert Holmes Ford dealership Ashburton Motors. He worked on my car in my avatar that has the Ashburton Motors badge on my dash.
Thanks Dad. I will remember 11/22/2020 for the rest of my days. Your the best mate.

Tony, my deepest sympathy on the passing of your dad.

I lost my dad December 2, 1977. I still miss him. Your dads memory will never fade.

One way of honoring him and keeping him with me, I hung his WW11 dog tags on the rear view mirror of my 39 coupe. He’s with me on every ride.

My dad was without a doubt my best friend, I lost him in '79 when I was 26 and he was 52. I still miss him very much. I know what you are going through. He sounds like a great dad to teach you so much about cars and racing and life.

So sorry to hear of your Dad's passing, Tony. I feel your pain knowing how tough it was for me losing my Dad 43 years ago. Not a day goes by that I don't miss him, but it helps that I have so many good memories of the times we spent together.

Hey Tony, so sorry to hear about you losing your Pops --- he sounds like a wonderful Dad, friend, mentor, inspiration, etc. You're fortunate to have had such a Dad - and he fortunate to have such a Son. You'll see him again . . . and he will be well. Take care and make sure you reflect, laugh and smile about all the great experiences/times you've shared.

My condolences. It's never easy to lose a parent. My dad was a car guy and he died in 1959 on the Friday after Thanksgiving, at 52 years of age. I've missed him every day of my life, but especially so just before Thanksgiving.

WOW Thanks so much for all the responses. I am totally blown away. You guy’s have truly help me through these tough times & not being able to come back to support my sisters make it even tougher. Again “Thank You So Much” from my family & myself.
My family have arranged to have Dads 48 Bonus work truck at his service.

Sorry for your loss, my Dad passed 2 years ago. He taught me like your Dad taught you. First engine rebuild on a 1955 Chevy in 1969. He was a Ford man. !950s Ranch Wagons, 60s Falcon Station Wagon, 70s LTD. I now have a Ford an I will think of him as I work on it. The guys on the Power Wagon forum really supported me as The Ford guys are supporting you. It does help.

Tony my heartfelt sympathies goes out to you and your family.
I lost my Dad 4 years ago and there is not a day that goes by that I don't think of him- It does become more bearable with time but still hurts.

Not being able to grieve with your family makes it even harder. I have had a few patients whose family have travelled for the funeral from overseas -The service was delayed to enable their relatives to do the required 2 weeks isolation in a designated facility, Most however have elected to be part of the funeral online

Thinking of you -Karl

Sorry to hear. I lost my pops in my early 30's. It is a very great thing you were able to share time together through out your years. Be well and cherish memories!
