Default Emergency brake cross shaft 1929

Hello fellow Fordbarners,I am currently on the emergency brake cross shaft.i am building up the area where the rod clevis hooks up on each side of the shaft.Does anyone know the diameter for this area.my guess is about 7/16 but im not sure.I know this area is not super critical but i am trying to get it where it should be to have one less rattle.I worked on building up the ball on the front wishbone today to 1.5 inches and am pleased with the results on that project.Lots of welding ,grinding, filing, and a little polishing .

There should be an unworn part just on the outside of the cotter pins. Did you try to measure that?

Yes i did Tom,that is where i came up with the 7/16 guess, but i was not positive since it was an eighty something year old part that has rusted some.

The key thing is to make sure the emergency brake rod clevis fits over the shaft end with just a little clearance. I am restoring a emergency brake shaft right now and that is what I plan to do.
