Default Original "Ford Logo" Shocks

I have just removed a complete set of "Ford Logo" Houdialle shocks from my 30 Pickup. They are functioning, but not well, and three of them are not leaking, the fourth is leaking only slightly. They are not rusty and should be an easy rebuild. What do you feel is a reasonable asking price for these shocks. I do not need them as I replaced them with new Stipe shocks..........................Looks like the patent number 3,613,842 on these shocks is dated 1971. Also marked on the shock is "Made in Chicago, Ill, USA" Looks like these are Houduille look-a-like after market shocks, probably not worth s**t.

FYI Those logo shocks were used up to 1929 if they were original.

With that date and Chicago they were reproductions and maybe friction and not hydraulic or rebuildable. I have MAFCA magazines with ads from back in the 60s but that wont tell whats inside and I have only had originals opened up.

Default Original "Ford Logo" Shocks

Peter Buciak - Antique Auto and Parts by Pete - Chicago, IL

Here are some links to previous threads about these shocks:

There are other threads here on the Barn regarding these shocks.

Also there are several sets on Ebay falsely advertised as originals.

Hope this helps.

Got a set of the "antique Auto Parts by Pete" shocks on woodycab. The cover is original Ford cover (steel). The body is cast brass or bronze and they are hydraulic. Know that 'cause there is traces of oil around some of the edges.

AL in NY,
That's the best place for them.
I have a set of them also and I just went through the rear ones again and still no good. They offer very little resistance when pumping the arms even though I filled them with heavy tranny lube. Finally got them to almost stop leaking with a heavy coating of thread sealer. The way they are manufactured allows internal leaking from chamber to chamber.
I feel your pain.
