Early 1935 fuel pump stand tube length ?
When using the tall domed early intake manifold (Ole Ron called it a "camel back" when he saw it a couple years ago) do I need a fuel pump stand with this tube longer than the 4 1/8 inch one on the bottom? This manifold sits up to about 2 1/2 inches off the block as apposed to the later 35-36 manifold that stands about 1 1/2 inches. For the pump shaft it takes the nine inch one to activate the pump. Does this 3/4 inch diameter tube have to be an inch longer as well? Is the purpose of this tube only to keep the shaft from any lateral movement? Any ideas? Thanks for your input.

Re: Early 1935 fuel pump stand tube length ?
There are a bunch of Flathead engines out there cranking up the miles without this tube, and often missing the baffle tube as well. So apparently not an issue without the tube, but to answer your question, the proper part would have had the 1" longer small tube and baffle.
