Default Our First "Tour"

Yesterday, Dick Steinkamp and I embarked outside our safety zone, and decided to take our first Model A Tour. Yes... after months of preparing our cars, we decided to take to the open road! The first annual Model A Olympics were being held in our own backyard, and as new members of the "Moon on A's" out of Everett, WA, we thought we needed to attend. All 13 miles were carefully planed and mapped out, and at 9:30 AM on the morning of Saturday, July 16th, we hit the road, despite the lite sprinkle that was bouncing off of our windshields!

Congrats. I'm sure it was a good feeling arriving and an even better feeling returning home with that accomplishment under your belt.

Do you not have any other Model A Fords in your area? Wayne.

Nice job, Art! Excellent music too. You are a talented guy.

Here's a few more pictures from the day...

One more "down the road" video of me trying to keep up with Art on the way home...

BTW, Art took the Gold Medal that day. I believe it was due to his co-pilot selection on those events requiring a passenger ...

Ok, so the "drama" in the first post is a little "tongue-in-cheek"! Heck, Dick's car was on fire the day before! That's bravery! !

Come down for breakfast some time & get the full SR 9 "A"dventure. Once you start driving farther afield, you get comfortable pretty quick. =) Did you count all the miles running around Larry's field?

Great pictures, and a fun event. Congrats on the big win!

Was very nice to meet you and your wife, she was a good helper out in the "arena". Was about 30 miles round trip, events included. And I have to agree with Dick, he's almost as good a backseat driver as my wife!

Benny, you were a great MC!

One thing I still don't understand, however. Benny is a young guy. How did he get into a Model A club...and stranger yet, how did he become President of one?

All I can say is when all the other kids were watching Saturday morning cartoons, I was going through my old man's stack of Ford Lifes, far as being President, that was easy, nobody wanted it lol, thanks Dick for the kind words, Benny

That video shows just how all of us Model Aers are no different from each other. Apart from sitting on the wrong side of the car, those pics could have been any rally.
Thanks for posting and I hope this is a confidence builder for more and longer trips.
I've just returned from a 7,000 mile tour, my third of that length or more towing a camper all the way. The cars will do it if we give them a chance.
