Default 1955 Mercury Montclair 2 dr. hardtop

I don't know much about the 55 Mercury 2 dr. hardtop but, I found one that I like and the owner wants to sell. It's a 292 engine with white air cleaner and white valve covers with red letters that spell mercury on them. The engine is highly detailed and super clean but I can't really describle the engine color. It's sort of like a dull mustard color. Is this correct? The car is beautiful and a legit condition of between #2-#3 being closer to #2 condition. I was going to offer $20K--seem fair?

That's exactly what the engine looks like on the one I'm looking at--thanks I guess it's correct.

I've seen them in that color before too. But I think there are several different colors that were used in '55. Seems I read someplace it depends on which plant the engine came from. Here's the '55 Merc 292 I bought for my '56 Ford - before and apparently original (had 17K miles on it when I got it) and after:

I owned an original '55 Montclair, and I agree that picture is a '55, however it has '56 or later cyl. heads, '56 style air cleaner, and possibly a '56 or later radiator. As far as the colors I would say they are correct. My '55 Montclair had the valve covers and air cleaner the same mustard yellow as the engine though. I know it was original.
