Default 97 Stromberg carburetor

fuel inlet needle and seat for a large logo 97 is larger thread size on the one carburetor that I have. Any insight why one carburetor would have a large opening 3x2 setup.thx norm 507 301 8300

The threads stripped out and were tapped to a larger size. There was an adapter that threaded in, and the original line threaded into that.
