Crab Condenser relocation
I have seen on some previous posts, where they relocate the ('42 - '48) crab distributor condenser to an area up near the coil, in a more accessible area.
Having the recent occasion(s) to replace my condenser (mounted on the distributor) along the roadside has made me think of that. Any potential problems I should be aware of doing this? Thanks. Jim |

Re: Crab Condenser relocation
Will work just fine anywhere you , mount it on point side wire from coil.
However the electronic guys always want it next to the distributor close to the point set its protecting...... |

Re: Crab Condenser relocation
Do you mean on top of the coil with the wire coming from the distributor?

Re: Crab Condenser relocation
That's a great idea. Now if only we could mount the distributor up near the head where we could access it.....

Re: Crab Condenser relocation
It was meant as humorous, but I DO think I have seen a picture of a crab installed on a post somewhere.

Re: Crab Condenser relocation
I was trying to find the old picture of a model a with a guy and a couple ladies. It clearly shows a 4 banger model a motor with a half a helmet distributor mounted on it. All I found from google was new hot rod model a's.
No real value to this thread but its a neat picture and shows you can do a lot of different stuff if you have some time and a good imagination. found it... a life magazine cover. Guess it was two dudes and a lady. Looks like them kids be having fun. Last edited by Tinker; 10-10-2017 at 08:09 PM. |
