Default flathead 60 hp questions

I am rebuilding a 1938 ford 60 hp flathead. I have a 1937 tin sided one for spare parts. The rear main cap on the 1937 engine is made different from the 1938 cap. The 1937 cap has a cast rear seal as an integeral part of the cap, while the 1938 cap is machined for a pot metal seal. The opening around the slinger is larger on the 1937 cap. It appears that the tin sided engine is one of the first manufactured. Now for the questions. Are the two crankshafts identical and interchangeable? Are the Camshafts interchangable? Does anyone know of a good repair manual for the V8-60s? please help me make sense of this engine before I spend any more money. I am aware that the 1940 V8-60 ha a larger crank.

I have a dozen or so cranks for the 37-39 engines to include out of tin sides and they are all alike. Same with cams they also are the same. Not sure if this totally answered your questions. Cheers. Tony
