Re: At What Age Do You Give It Up?
Even if you can no longer drive or really work on them. You can still go out and enjoy your old car in the barn or garage. The two of you just sitting and enjoying each other’s presents.
Once sold or given away? I guarantee you will go first and the Model A will live on. I’m going to keep our last one to be there for my family to say good by to. Memories, you can’t touch. Enjoy. |

Re: At What Age Do You Give It Up?
I’m 87 and still drive my early ’28 open cab pickup and my later ’28 roadster. I only drive the pickup on nearby forest trails, mostly to gather firewood because I’m having trouble getting my feet on the brake and clutch pedals quickly. I still drive the roadster on back country roads as it is much easier for me to drive than the pickup.

Re: At What Age Do You Give It Up?
When your passengers, other drivers and/or pedestrians are at risk, you pull the plug. It isn't a month/year thing. It is a safety thing.
My uncle (macular degeneration) and my dad (cataracts) refused to give up their "right to drive" until well into their 90's. Fortunately no one was seriously hurt by either. Does your "right to drive" trump someone's "right to live"? Last edited by dean from bozeman; 11-29-2021 at 06:08 PM. |

Nice thought Dean but daily I see 30, 40 & 50 year old who should be banned from driving.
