I have had an Advantage 9000 Pound 4 Post Lift for 6 years and have had zero issues. I would recommend this company to anyone.

I've had a BackYard Buddy since 1993. I haven't had any problems whatsoever with it and at my age (77) would probably not be working on old cars anymore, without it. 4-years ago, I dismantled it by myself, had the movers deliver it to my new place, and after having my new shop built, reassembled it myself. I use it at least 3 or 4 times a week. Best tool purchase I ever made !

I was a Vendor at the NSRA nationals for many years and back then there were several companies selling lifts, I had a real time chance to check them out and hands down BendPak had the best quality lift available. Also while visiting several hot rod shops in CA they were using BendPak both 2 and 4 post versions. I see the guys in my local tire and repair shop working under a pair of heavy duty BendPak 2 post lifts everyday. Was god enough for me and my small shop.

I have a Backyard Buddy 4 post lift. I ordered it with extra length and height features, drip pans, center slide plate for use of a separate jack, and it's on four wheels so I can move it around the shop if necessary. I also made sure it could lift an F250 with extended cab and 8' bed. A great lift that's made very well in America, with steel from North America.

Folks,
I have wanted a lift as another tool in the shop since I started designing it. The plan was for a two post. Increased the ceiling height . Thicker floor. Power ready above in the ceiling.my friend Todd in Wisconsin got a 4 post and really likes it for his three muscle cars. I do like the idea of a drive on to reduce the risk of getting the vehicle in the wrong position on a two post.
But a two post became available from a local Firestone store.
The brand was what I was interested in too. a Rotary brand.
I think the bendpack mentioned above is a good brand too!
So I am setting I up myself.
Couple things as mentioned. Do some shopping .
Get the unit that will easily lift the vehicle you want. In my case the Ford F250 weights about 8500 ish. So I over kill everything and wanted a 12,000 lb lift.
I am not planning to go into a service shop, and have never had a lift. So we will see. The concept of not laying on the floor to do work under a car or truck sound interesting!
Good luck with your new tool in your shop! Sounds like good advice here on the drive on units. We need pictures!
Regards,
Chris and Cheryl

We have two BYB lifts (one is my sons)
1 is 20 yrs. old the other is 15 yrs. old.
Since day one they both have leaked quite a bit of hydraulic fluid from the valve on the cylinder. It happens when we run them up to the highest point in order to set the locks.
Eventually they lose enough fluid that more must be added for it to work again.
We spoke to BYB years ago no help there.
Anyone out there with a similar experience?

Checkout Wildfire lifts. I bought one last year. Good people to deal with, and great support. Mine is a 9000 lb 4 post, with casters. It is the longer and wider model, so I can drive my newer truck on without folding up the mirrors, and an extended cab fits on it too. My model a and my old jeep also fit, and they are narrower than most vehicles. My ceiling is 12' and I can park anything I have on it with 6' under it.

I finally pulled the trigger and bought a Wildfire 4 post lift.
With the help of a friend we had it assembled in about 3-4 days working 4-5 hours per day.
The lift is 9,000 lbs and the maximum height under the upper unit is 6'10".

So, after locating it where I wanted, all is well.

Thanks for all the suggestions.

Years ago I bought a Rotary 4 post with a catwalk. The shop that I built has 12' eves & I installed 2' of Plexiglas panels for more light. I bought the lift & picked it up from the dealer with my flatbed car hauler. I used the cherry picker & floor jack to unload & put it together & mount it on the 5'slab.I ran the 220 V \& airline overhead using a drop at one of the post. I had it until I sold-out & gave the new owner a very nice present. Probably had it for 20 some years without a problem.
