Re: Split rim styles
Stu,
I should be able to get more info on those rims in the next few days. Thank you. Red |

Re: Split rim styles
Stu,
Here are some photos of the rims in question. The rim that had a solid ring is a Budd wheel with a number of C-32898. The other 2 are also Budd wheels one of which I can't read the number on. The number I can see is C-18596-H. The other number looks like it starts with C-25??? Red |

Re: Split rim styles
Okay, heres what I find. Your C-18596 has a Goodyear DT style rim with split outer ring, its dish is 3 5/8, it is 20 x 3.75 (5 old measurement system). It has the early 5 x 6 7/8 pattern.
Your C-32898 has a Firestone RH style rim with continuous unbroken RI style ring. It is 20 x 3.75 (5 old system), 3 3/4 dish, and the early 5 x 6 7/8 pattern. Your third wheel is I think might be #23597. Youll have to tell me if it matches the 20 x 3.75 width, 3 3/4 dish, and same 6 7/8 pattern. It also has a Goodyear DT rim and split ring. I went through Budds 1933 catalog looking for wheels having the first digit 2 and last digit 7. This is the only one meeting the size and width comparable to your others. Stu

Re: Split rim styles
I'm so impressed with the quality and breadth of this answer that I am considering buying a big truck.
Seriously, things like this are what make this such a great forum. |

Re: Split rim styles
Stu,
You are the man! I'm pretty sure the width matches the others, I will have to compare it. All of the wheels in the last post are the same early lug pattern. Tubman- I have to agree with you on why these forums are so great. Red |
