Transmission Clutch release shaft, no grease fitting case

Hello, can anyone tell me what clutch release shaft to use with my case?
it's a 18-7006 casting and does not have any grease fitting holes in left or right side for the clutch release shaft. (see arrows)

I'm assuming the shaft has a grease fitting in the end?
Or how do the bushings stay lubed? All My other cases have fittings
Again any help would be appreciated greatly.

You could always add those grease fittings to your 18-7006 case. Not that difficult to do if transmission is out of your vehicle.

PS...I remembered that I did add those grease fittings on one of my '35 transmissions, with case #48-7006, along with a new clutch release shaft and both bushings.

The 18-7006 cases for 32-34 did not have grease fittings nor did the shafts. I think Ford assumed there would be oil seepage in the bell housing area some of which would end in the bushings and shaft, not sure of this, just a hunch. During '35 sometime the "48" and later cases had the grease fittings.

Easy enough to drill and tap your case if you want. Paul J.

Yup, I have a 18 case with a hollow clutch shaft no grease fittings in the case or shaft.

The original clutch release shaft was hollow but there was no grease fitting on them, or a matching hole at the bushing areas to allow any grease to flow through. As others have stated, you can drill and tap holes for zerk fittings in the area of the bushings. Naturally you’ll need to do this with the old bushings and release shaft out of the gearbox casting. It’s best done with the gearbox out of the vehicle. If you want to keep everything like original as Ford made it, don’t put in the grease fittings…..however you’ll need to use some grease on the bushings before installing the clutch shaft. I like to use wheel bearing grease here because of its sticking qualities.

Actually not quite that straightforward, as the'32 clutch release shafts were solid, not hollow. The hollow ones started to be used in the '33 model year.

That certainly could be the case. I haven’t researched the differences between original 32 shafts and the subsequent versions. I guess my point in this thread was that the shafts that were hollow were not designed or machined to accommodate grease fittings for grease to flow through the shaft internally. I know that the reproduction B-7510 shafts are solid steel.
