Default Head chambers CC's

In addition to engine component balancing, I was wondering if the cc displacement of the head chambers are ever checked for consistency between cylinders. Also another thing to check could be TDC piston deck height. I guess these could be considered splitting hairs but maybe could result in a smoother running engine. Just a thought.

Ford spec for stroke and index of the crankshaft is .005---if index is off tdc is in different places for each cylinder
running up the dist on a machine to see that the point opening occurs at the proper time on the "other" cylinders from#1 that the timing was set, I have seen 10 degree differences with some of the "GYP" parts sold---

checking the cam to see that the valve timing events occur at the same time for all cylinders

There are a lot of hairs to split, some don't make much difference, many of these engines have been "rebuilt" many times, crankshafts worn and reground a little off-----the errors compounded on the next rebuild,
