Nice finds Neil. Were you out early to the garage sales? LOL.
You did good. Are you going to the San Diego meet? Mark.

I've got a trouble shooting light just like that one. Yours is the only other one I have ever seen.

Most of these parts came from a local estate sale.

Emf,
I just assumed that it was the 28/29 Model A radiator thread size. Unfortunately it is for a larger thread radiator. I guess i will put it on ebay or at the Big 3 swap meet.

GearHeadDriver,
I might consider selling it. Please email me and I can send more pictures. [email protected]

Here is picture of another gear shift light knob.

I have been looking for an eagle meter like that one for my 28 firetruck, but most that I find are larger, like yours, and will not fit the threads.... I'm still looking...

Hey Neil. Is that gear shift hollow and the wire snaked up through it?

And is that an illuminated gear shift knob?

I have a wired shift knob that is a turn signal switch. Left and right. Kind of similar, but haven't seen a hollow shifter lever to feed the wire through before.

Not sure if your flip eagle cap is "the one" or not, but Chevrolet used one as a factory mascot in 26-27 according to the book "Motoring Mascots of the World" and I think the threads are a bit larger than A's.

I also have a Beacon lighthouse which I had to replace the thermometer in, I used the guts of a really badly corroded Boyce meter and did a fair amount of machining to seal it in.

Jason - is the blinker switch knob like a big mushroom that you turn the top of to activate? If so, I think I know what accessory lamp it came from.

is the threads close or is there enough room to have a machineist make an adapter bushing?

A fordbarner is buying the eagle and is planning on having an adapter made.

Also, the trans tower is hollow and the wire goes up to the light in the knob.

Thanks to Neil for being patient with my many questions. I plan to do whatever it takes to make this fit my firetruck. After all, this is for my 'baby'.

Jason, that knob was part of a Double S glass arrow turn signal kit. I bought a complete NOS boxed kit from eBay a few years ago. If you search eBay there is a lamp out there missing all the rest which was a lamp that is clamped to the dash and lights up so you know when it's been left on, the knob, and some wire and instructions. I will try to post a picture of the instructions - if its too large send me a message with your email and I will forward it.

THANKS MARK!

Here is a photo of my switch and dash light. The dash light bracket has "on" and "off" stamped in it with a little white paint to show the letters.

I purchased it from a man who said his accessory light was stolen off his car, so he decided to sell the knob and dash light.

I think I've seen this "S" light before.
