Thumbs up Thumbs up for Third Gen Auto

For some time now I've mucking around with starter motors for the 33 couldn't get one to spin properly. After blaming battery & wiring which I did address without success. Saw a new starter on Third Generation Auto website and decided to get one. I have dealt with them before and have had no problems.
After travelling around the world even to Dubai it finally arrived. Not to my door but to a local postal warehouse. What a mess the parcel had been rewrapped by Aus.Post in a heavy plastic bag. The box was just a mess of wet pulp and service counter asked if I would accept or send it back. I thought what could happen to a metal starter & took it home. Not sure how it got so wet but it must have been some aggressive stuff as the shaft was rusted bad and inside was stained and brass com was pitted. Any way I had dismantled cleaned, dried & reoiled fitted to the 33 and all is fine.
I sent an E-mail to Third Gen. Auto what had happened and to my surprise I received a full refund back to Paypal.
This experience was not their fault and I do appreciate there response.
I will continue to use them in the future.
Thankyou 3rd Gen Auto

Probably just a shipping container that hit the sea. Yikes. Good story.

It doesn't get any better than that for customer service.

They do. I have received a few. Ask Mike, I'm sure he'd be happy to get some free advertising.

My experiences have been similar. I feel like the parts I've gotten were worth more money than Michael's going rate.

He understands and very clearly communicates through the company's actions that customers have to want to continue to use any particular business multiple times.

Just prior to "Hershey" fall meet, they rebuilt a distributor for me as a spare. I could not believe the quality of his work as well as reasonable price ! Wonderful job, very impressed.

Had a couple of orders from in the last month. First went better than expected. Too bad their computer went down half way through my second online order. Called them and evidence of labor shortage connected me to a pair that couldn't figure. I resorted to an interrogation to pry the story out of them. Was wanting to make Third Gen as my primary because of the Roy history. Recently I opted for the snail shipping. When it arrives I'll know how things go. Sounds like the board is in love with Michael. When they grow into the expectations, hope they don't become a Macs/Eckler. Sure, we truly need them all. Good Luck: Fred A

Excuse me. I'm a fan and feel free to skip to the next post.

Here's another example: I didn't think I really needed a reverse idler gear for a '35 trans rebuild that I was discussing on the phone.

The way I remember he showed an amazing picture and said "this box of a hundred" of them would last a while. Forty pounds of parts that were as close to brand new as 80 year old stuff gets.

I won't reveal what he required to put one from the box into my package of goodies, but I really felt like I got the best deal on earth! And the peace of mind that goes with good, real Ford, actually original, parts.

Similar experiences when I was getting some minty brake rods and other bits fell into my package. On another occasion I loved the engine mounts/water inlets that he had on the shelf for a 21 stud. Much improved over the eroded necked ones that I was holding. I got the complete wiring looms for my '35 from them.

He does these repair jobs and vends parts to cover his bills, and knows the things I'll need even when I don't! He's got the parts books and numbers memorized.

Nuts and bolts? The best!
