The 8ba does not like to go in a 34 frame very tight. I changed to early 48 ford pumps to shorten the engine.

You look for 14" or 15" and do you want restored or want to restore yourself. 14" caps have repo around the 15" up are harder to find

Great looking car-if the non stock items bother you too much I will take it for leaking oil in your garage.

Thanks Darrell, I just needed a closeup for ID purposes. I think a set on my '31 Vicky would look good as an alternative. I am running 16" Firestone Air Baloons on my A Coupe, and love them until I have to clean them!

These were sold as General Jumbo accessory wheel by General tire. They made all different size for all different cars.14" with 8 spokes were low pressure balloon tire for rough soft roads and better ride. They are some times called Clev-weld because that is stamped around the lug holes.Darrell

Speaking of General Jumbos .........
I do not have any JUMBO tires or wheels, but I do have this great piece of advertising, put out by General Tires, promoting their JUMBO Jr. tires.
It is an AM radio, probably for their dealers ???????
The speaker is located in the center and the controls are off to each side.
I have had this for about fifty years, having found it at a regular type Flea Market.

This tire is much bigger than those ashtray tires. The diameter of this tire is about 10".

How about one of Uncle Fester's Ford coupe with Jumbos? Or a set of wheels that were on a trailer?

Post Re: General Jumbo wheels 34 coupe pics

Hi Darrel,
i have always admired your 34 and especially those wheels. What size and width are your jumbos ?
I read on the HAMB you had to narrow the wheels by 1 inch in the front.
I have a 34 Ford coupe as well with 2,5" dropped stock front axle and early ford spindles with Lincoln Zephyr brake drums.
I would like to run my coupe with fenders and Jumbo General Rims / Tyres ( 600 front / 700 rear) as well.
I believe Jumbos also came out in size 16" and 4.5" width. That size should fit my car without causing any problems, such as reducing steering radius. I think those would look and fit the best!

I dont know about 15" if they will fit without issues. Thats why i would like to know your opinion on the sizes 14", 15" and 16" Jumbo General wheels with regards to a 34 trad. dropped front axle set up with fenders.

Regards Randolf

Great looking ride. Can you tell me what you have for suspension front & rear? I like the stance & need to get my roadster a bit lower.
Thanks,

Your 1934 ford Five Window Coupe looks neat.
A few years ago, a friend had a Set of these wheels for sale. While they look similar to the Jumbo Wheels, I notice that they have Nine "Spokes" while yours only has Eight? Is this Red Wheel a Jumbo, or is it something else?

Sorry I just seen this and hope I can still help.14" is the only wheel they made repo caps for 15 an16 have there own caps and you have to find originals and fix. Rally America was selling the repo caps but the place burned to the ground And I think they lost them all. I ask them and they didn't have anymore. I had to narrow my fronts to clear the disc brake caliper so the back of the wheel is moved to the outer part of my car. The outer lip is were it always was. I do have the narrower front 4" inch drop axle. They should bolt on your Lincoln brakes. They should be 14" 8 spoke 5 1/2" bolt pattern at 6 1/2" wide. 15" & 16" have 9 spokes. I have 8 inch ford rear end with four bar front and rear buggy spring front and rear just kept adjusting springs until I got this ride hieght. Darrell
