Default 34 Sparton Horn Help Needed

Hi All,
I want to test this Sparton horn, which I think is original, that I took off my 34 Fordor about 15 years ago at the start of its restoration.
The labels have fallen off the cables so I now don't know which is which.
When I come to refitting on the car, I'd appreciate also knowing where the yellow and yellow/blue cables on the new loom need to go and if anything else looks amiss on the photo.
Guide: A and B are cables, C looks like a terminal that should have something connected to it. Also, is the clamp at the bottom for the wiring or something else? (The car also has a second horn which is old and cosmetically similar but with a later vibrator fitted inside).
They both worked when I took them off but I know that's no guarantee now!
Thanks in advance and any help would be much appreciated.
John

You're missing the condenser located at B. A connects to the missing condenser; the wire at the other end of the missing condenser is soldered to C. Wire B was originally soldered to where wire A is attached with solder.

Sorry, but your horn is a mess. I recommend that you find one that is free of tampering with the condenser intact or send what you have to a competent horn restorer.

The bullet ends of your new wiring harness plug into the ends of C when the other other issues are resolved.

Thanks David.
I now remember that the condenser fell out when I took the bell off all those years ago.
I must have it somewhere.
Sadly, I don't know anyone who specialises in these horns, so I'll have to get the solder out.
I've a pair of the repro horns in reserve but I've not heard great things about the sound they make, so I'll see what I can do with the originals first before I try them.

Buy a new condenser on line and fit it to your horn. The old condenser will be faulty. The condenser is a .2 mfd 400 volt. You may have to clean the contacts with some fine wet & dry paper and only adjust them if really required. Only operate it on 6 volts and not 12 volts. Regards, Kevin.

I assume the condenser sixe you mention is the same for all early "Ford" horns, whether Claxon or other make. You know what happens when you assume.

Lawson, when you mention Claxon (spelt wrong) are you are referring to a motor driven horn like on a Model A Ford. A motor driven horn does not require a condenser or capacitor. Only vibrator horns require one. KLAXON is a brand name, not a type of horn. RRegards, Kevin.
