Gold . I just think if it's got three pedals and a starter button you're halfway there

I'd guess if they wanted what I have they will get it. I might be around so I don't know how that will play out. I'm not going to be too worried about it though.

I have enough of a time remembering that first gear isn't up to the left. More than once I have realized I have put it in reverse at a stop light. All my moderns are manual trans, too. LOL.

Stomp starters, ignition switches, and manual transmissions. You get through all that well good for you!

Hi guys,
Im a bit like Brian in that i leave my keys in my 34 pickup and one window down. However if parking overnight ,I have an under the seat kill switch AND my starter button is hidden under the dash. I have put a push starter button in an obvious place, but it operates my klaxon horn, ignition on or off! If they push the obvious starter button, my horn goes off!
Just my idea of a joke! But its pretty loud.

So, you don't actually have any theft prevention devices or practices.

1. I use a battery cut off solenoid attached to a remote door lock module. I use the key fob to disconnect the battery.

2. I also use the original steering lock that also locks the ignition switch.

With this setup someone would have to tow the car. Might be overkill for some, but if you have a car that doesn’t lock like a roadster, it gives a little more since of security.

Looks complex but a simple circuit. The door lock module activates a couple relays that operate the solenoid.

How about pull the coil wire off if parked at a hotel overnight. If it's on the nightstand it sure is inconvenient. Of course if they have a trailer that will do little.

I don't need to be a bummer. But most antique cars are planned and they come with a flatbed. Hard to prevent that with a switch.

Have good insurance or don't leave it out in a parking lot over night.

Or don't worry about it, it happens less then we imagine.

A well known Youtuber swaps the lead from the coil and one of the plug leads at the distributor cap. Hard to spot unless you're clued up.

What Mart said...we used to do that when we used to impound a car. Not once did the owner ever figure it out.

I agree the issue that worries me is the scumbag that steals the radiator cap, Badges or Hub caps as a display piece for their home under a stone somewhere or just vandalises the car for kicks . I guess there's no way to stop that !-Karl

I agree about the vandals. Whenever I drive either '32's I always am concerned some have not, shouldn't have to work, since I don't have it neither should you, Oh poor me, the government will give it to me, self pitying dirt bag will out of spite key the paint or otherwise vandalize the car(s). In terms of theft prevention previous posts have all offered excellent suggestions. As an aside, in post #14 Drolston states "Not one in a thousand could figure out how to start and drive these things". I have to chuckle as whenever I take my avatar 5W to a car show and someone asks about it I always say, "If you can figure out how to start it I'll give it to you." So far I'm batting 1000.
