I might be in the minority here. I wasn't even a glint in my fathers eye.

Tucson AZ, Playing at friend's house and wondering why all the grown ups were glued to the TV. I hated the TV news back then, always Vietnam coverage.

Military school rifle range competition. Stepped out for a minute and heard the news. Went back and told the coach "The president has just been shot ". He said "That is not funny ". "No, it's the truth ". Moments later the news came over the PA. Not knowing I had just stepped outside, he looked at me in amazement.

I was a Lieutenant in the USN in an Airborne Early Warning Training Unit and we were immediately put on alert to launch (not our normal task) if necessary. I had only arrived a few days before and my wife and I were in temporary quarters and when I wasn't at the NAS we were glued to the radio.

Yeah, I'm old, but wiser than I was then! LOL

There were 4 of us sitting in a 1956 Buick Special that had been "slightly modified". We were parked on County Street in NewBedford Mass listening to WBZ radio out of Boston waiting to go to class at NewBedford Institute of Technology. The first comment by one of the guys who was in the reserves was "Oh shit we are going to go to war with someone" and he immediately left. We never made it to class that day!

I may not remember what I did yesterday but some things are clear

I was in my 8th grade science class when one of the teachers came and told us that the President was shot and that we were to get on the bus and go directly home to our parents.

I remember standing near the stove in Moms kitchen in Winnipeg Manitoba,
Wondering why Mom was crying.
All the neighborhoodladies came over and started talking about the President being killed. He had to be the most popular President to Canadians too.

I was driving my 1960 Ford home from the Red Owl Grocery store in Menasha WI when I got the news of the shooting on the radio. I went back to work at Marathon Paper Co. and got the news of his death there. I don't think we got much done that day.

I was a junior at Eastside High School in Paterson New Jersey out for lunch break in my buddy's Corvair when the radio announced JFK was shot. Even thou I was only 15 I knew I just witnessed a major news story and an event that was going to shake the world up. What a crazy world we live in!

I had just come out of an auto parts store. When I started VW bug there was church music on instead of the rock and roll that was on when I went in. About 10 seconds later they broke into the music to say the President had been shot in Dallas. I was on the way to pick up my future wife at high school. What a somber day. Seems like yesterday.
