Difference between '32 'B' passenger radiator and truck radiator

I'm looking to buy an original '32 4 cylinder radiator but don't know if the one I'm looking at is for a passenger car or a truck.

Can someone tell me the difference between the two as I want to make sure I end up with a passenger radiator and not a truck radiator. Are the dimensions different?

I've attached pictures of the one I'm looking at. Can anybody tell from the pictures if it's a passenger or truck radiator?

There are some BB radiators that a passenger shell will not fit over...I have one. I need set it next to a passenger radiator to see if I can find where the difference is though. I'll see if I can do that tonight...and take some pictures.

hi all; I've parted 4 BB's never noticed a difference, interesting. Now AA's are thicker than A passengers. The AA shell has a different radiator fill location. Newc

Having had both truck and passenger car radiators I honestly don't think there is a difference in the '32 radiators. HRP

I got my suppossed 32 truck radiator out and put it next to a 32 V-8 radiator...and I think what I have is really a 30-31 AA 4-row radiator. It came off of a 32 truck, so I ASSumed that it was indeed BB...but now I see the difference.

I thought there was some discussion of a Heavy Duty BB radiator that was different than passenger though...or did I dream that?

So it's safe to say that there's no difference in a '32 4 cylinder passenger radiator and truck radiator which would mean that an original '32 shell would fit both because the radiators are the same.

Judging from the core thickness of the radiator in your photos, that is a '32 passenger car/commercial vehicle/large truck radiator (there's no difference in '32 production radiators between vehicle type, only engine type). Having said that, there was a heavy duty four-cylinder radiator released for service only (not production) in September 1932, ostensibly for trucks in 'heavy use'. It had an extra row of tubes (four versus three).

It fits passenger cars as well and while rarely encountered today, its extra cooling capacity is just the ticket for a driver.
