Default 1946 PU Grill Guard

What is correct for the 1946 Ford Pick up for a Grill Guard? My new grill can use some parking lot protection.

The one that was on the 46 truck we used to use for Hershey and other fleamarkets was made of probably 3/8 flat stock with 9/16 bars, the bars mimicked the grille bars and there were loops of the flat stock to protect the headlights ---it was heavy and strong, it never got tested, just looking at it would prevent other drivers from getting too close. ---there were bars angled back to the frame through the grille for braces, the lower ends attached to the bumper braces

I was hoping for something a bit more attractive than the kangaroo catcher you described. Thank you for the suggestion. I tried to fit a 35-36 grill guard to the 1946 bumper but the bumper bracing was in the way of the grill guard clamps. Anyone have any better ideas?
