1939 (not ‘40) heater firewall template needed
Does anyone have a firewall template or measurements from the accelerator pivots for the 1939 Ford Heater on passenger firewall? The posted 1940 does affirm that the mounting posts and coolant lines are located differently.
I am also interested in how the defroster ducts are mounted under the dash so as to not interfere with open car wiper pivot towers above. Very much appreciated, Mark [email protected] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I believe the 39 convertibles had different defroster ducts than the closed ones.
Kube will know. |

Chris, you are of course correct. The wagon and convertible ducts were much different than the closed cars.

Re: 1939 (not ‘40) heater firewall template needed
I measured the heater defroster output ports as 1-3/4” OD, ordered 1-3/4” wire/cloth duct material and I have the 18491B defroster duct nozzles with the same circumference. The width of these nozzles output is the same as the opening in the dash. Can someone confirm this nozzle for open car application?

Would these pictured nozzles both be left side, as they are identical? The features of the right side duct is more shallow, or different in what way? Mark Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

My memory fails me all too often. I'd suggest you speak with Larry Caplan. He knows heaters.

The defrost nozzles are left or right. If you can find a copy of The V8 Clubs V8 Times magazine Vol. 26, No.4 July/Aug. 1989 very interesting info on the 1939 Ford heaters hot air and hot water. See attached.
