Default Opinions on gaskets

I'm installing the transmission and bell housing on my '30 coupe and got to the outer u-joint covers (clamshell). I have both types of seals, cork and felt and wonder which type is best to use. Any opinions?

I've used felt, but either should work fine.

KUDOS to the supplier, they gave you 2 choices! If they sent only 1 type, sumone wuld BITCH!
Sum folks even specify a NEW ROPE fur HANGIN'-----------Ur they afraid an OLD rope would BREAK????
