Irecently bought a 35 Ford at auction. Title was in "Transit" . When it came in, it was a gibbersh serial number.

Is there a place where the number ranges can be looked up ?

Mine was 18-179xxxx .

I called the auction company and they were cool about it and said they had to check some things.
