Default Door cards

I’m installing the interior in my 1930–3 window four-door. It attaches to the wood on the perimeter of the door are use little chrome nails and didn’t like it I tried tacks and didn’t like that either. Does anyone have any ideas how to attach it to make it look good thank you in advance.

Remove the plating with Hydrochloric (Muriatic) Acid and then neutralize well. Media-blast the heads and then dip in a catalyzed urethane paint that matches the color of the fabric. If you chip or scratch, you will brush-touch the heads.

Daba - I'm using brown headed 18-ga x 5/8" brads in my pneumatic brad nailer for the perimeter, blends in well with (gets buried in) the brown mohair. (I just looked online, I'm not sure the brown heads are available any more.) For corners where the stress is higher I'm using 18 ga x 1" bright nails and hitting the heads with a brown sharpie. Brent's treatment of the nails sounds like a good way to go as well.
