Shipping fenders
I bought 2 rear fenders from a seller in Michigan and he packaged them and said he can't do any better but they have gone into freight. I tried the search but couldn't find anything. Does anyone know a reasonable way to have these freighted to Maine, also I saw on Ford Barn an air freight that was reasonable; does anyone know who that is. Thanks for any help, Bob

Re: Shipping fenders
Model A rear fenders will ship UPS with no problems. Have shipped several that way over the years. Use heavy bubble wrap and some shrinkwrap, no need for a box. Rod

Re: Shipping fenders
Talk to the local FedEX store. They have been very helpful to me in the past. Greyhound works as well.

Re: Shipping fenders
A few years back I had 2 front fenders shipped for a 1959 Dodge truck. They were shipped by Grayhound for a reasonable rate. They do not ship to your home you need to pick them up at one of their terminals.

They have 2200 stores around the US, so there is a good chance there is a store near you. This is a store to store service, no home delivery, but their rates are very competitive. |

Have only done rears as I don't think they would accept the fronts. I have used Greyhound for front fenders and that is economical but you have to pick them up at their terminal. |

Re: Shipping fenders
Beware though of the shipper;
http://www.fordgarage.com/pages/fendershipping.htm Maybe the good news is that specific seller has not sold anything in a year, of maybe the bad news is they changed their user ID.

Re: Shipping fenders
I've used U-ship a couple of times and so far been very happy with the out comes.
As long as you are not in a big hurry and you hold out on the early price offer to transport you can do pretty good and all my stuff was picked and delivered door to door. Best part is they don't get paid until you hit the payment button after delivery is made, although U-ship do take your funds out of your account to get the deal rolling. Greyhound ain't what it used to be in my parts, but it was an excellent deal a few years back. |

Re: Shipping fenders
if you use greyhound, make sure you have plenty of insurance................
have had 2 major losses with them out of approx 20 shipments. also, have found different people at diff USPS have had totally diff shipping rates............. not everyone working for the government can do basic math. |

Re: Shipping fenders
UPS boxed and padded appropriately is no problemo. Each fender in it's own box.
Good Luck, Gary |
