Default Holley 94 jets

The Holley 94 8RT truck carb I just took apart had 52 jets in it. I have read on here that 51 jets are recommending and that is what I have in it now. Would I see a performance increase with 52 jets? It’s an 8BA bored 60 over with a 4” stroke.

You are looking for the best A/F ratio for the application. An A/F meter helps a lot. The idea jetting can vary based on all kind of factors.

I added an A/F meter to my test stand and found it quite valuable.

I have yet to put one on a car, and may never do so.

Not being able to see the AF, when the engine is under load defeats the purpose of the instrument, ALL street engines should be tuned under cruise conditions, as the engine spends 90% there. A rich mixture is only beneficial under WOT. Also the ignition timing must be retarded some what. Aproperly tuned will last longer and be more fuel efficient.

The 94 type carbs came with some different sized jets over the years from '39 to '56.
Some had 52 jets. I would just leave it alone and see how it runs.

I would choose 51 jets, but you shouldn't have a problem with 52's.
