Default 1929 Murray Town Sedan Front Seat

Just wrapping up the exterior restoration on my Dad's TS he's had since 1974 for him. The interior has been disassembled for nearly four decades and I am about to install a Classtique (Ham Lake, MN...gorgeous, by the way) interior which I have.

I have paid little attention to the seat parts over the years and do not know if I even have all of them. Here's the question: Anyone have a 29 Murray TS that could take some photos of the underside of the seats (slides, adjustment screw, stops, etc) so I might finish this ol' project.

Any insights would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks in advance.

I'll look at mine. Never had the seat apart. If it's easy to get to I'll get you some pics.

Sure would appreciate it. Don't take anything apart on my account, just thought whatever can be seen from the underside would be cool.

Thanks!

Sluggo,

Thanks for the pics! Huge help as it looks as if I have everything. I thought there was more to it, but looks pretty straightforward.

Those slides that are bolted to the seat frame, do they appear to be just the one piece that goes over the rail in the car floor, or is there more to them?

Again thanks a million for taking the time on the photos...big help!

I think they are just a single track bolted to the seat riser on each side. At least that's what I recall looking at my brother's 31 Murray while the seat was out.

I'll try to get a pic down inside the well of the rails.

These are my unrestored early '30 Briggs Deluxe Fordor but essentially the same as your Murray.

Thank you very much for taking the time to snap some photos! It is a huge help. I and a friend redid the wood and all the original was so rough it was hard to even muster up a pattern let alone ascertain where all the hardware bolts up and works together.

Now I have no worries!

Thanks to each of you again.

Here are the photos for Jim...Hope they help.

The round hole is for access under the frame to attach any hardware such as the adjustment rod bracket and seat stops.

The one negative to having a solid or semi-solid bottom to the front seat carriage is you lose access to the "front seat tool box". This is a VERY useful storage area for the basics if the car is ever driven.

That's where I keep the spare spark plugs!

this is an excellent depiction of the seat.
I need an image or description of how the adjustment rod works because my rod turns but the seat does not move. How can I fix this?

If you need additional information I have an early 31 Fordor. I don't know if the seats are exactly the same as your 29 but you are welcome to look at my car.
