Maybe some of these will help?? (Overlook the shims behind the risers as they are only there temporarily to brace the sheetmetal during block-sanding operations.)

Re: 1929 Phaeton body wood-HELP!!!!
Brent, re your temp blocks, I had a problem a few years ago.
It was on an 81 falcon boot lid. Was blasted/bondoed/guide coated/wet rubbed and not until the final coat of clear went on, did it look like hail damage. Took a while to figure out that every dimple down from top corresponded with every dab of adhesive that was between the inner boot frame and underside of skin. When rubbing, the boot lid was being pushed down and the adhesive dabs pushed up..the bondo skimmed level and then wet rubbed and the guide coat said all was good, but when the pressure of rubbing was ended the adhesive pulled the skin down at each and every adhesive dab.. A model A is a lot stronger, but care has to be taken where temp blocks are put when rubbing with any more than light pressure.. Or an imprint of the block will cause grief. |
