The head with the big "C" on it is a Model B head better breathing than an A, but still only slightly higher compression. The head with the big"B" on it is the "police head" with 5.5:1 compression.

Yes they're diff. then Model A. They use the three bolt water pump & I believe they are 5.2 compression.

Vince has a good explanation of the A and B heads.

Steve,

There is another bit of trivia should you decide to run this head (which I don't recommend, the slight increase in compression is offset by the problem of a different water pump). There were two different three bolt water pumps. The first was used in 1932 and is the one you should use in a Model A, The second is shorter and used in 1933/34 where the radiator sloped rearward. The shorter pump requires a shorter pulley and a 1933/34 timing cover to relocate the generator towards the rear.

I just bought ( at the Renninger show) what I believe to be a B head that is marked F6 Made in USA. The front and rear is angled, not rounded like an A. It has the 3 bolt water pump. Can anyone identify this head ?
