Default "bud" anyone

here are photos of the brackets I have, and one of the old subrails with the second crosschannel. notice how the triangle piece slants upward causint the holes over the windshield to misalign. maybe I canrework them so they will fit.

It's much easier to follow and help with just one thread than starting another??

sorry about starting another thread . chalk it up to computer incompetence. anyway I got the pictures out there, maybe I can get some suggestions on what to do. the guy in calif. who makes these brackets sait he had encountered this situation only once and had made up a set of brackets and shipped them un welded so they could befitted before welding.

Those subrails look like Tudor rails that have been cut off to fit. That rear crossmember is not the one for the pre-August 31,(pre steel top)I can't remember if the subrails for the steel top Budd cab are the same as the earlier ones or not.Yours look like they have the holes for the Tudor seat brackets.

I think Keith has it. Look at the middle picture in the top row of a tudor
Brent restored, they look like Larry's. http://www.model-a-ford.com/proj_9.shtml

that sure looks like what I have. I think I have been burned badly. this may be the top and back of a 31 pickup that someone tried to graft to a sedan body and make a pickup. I guess I am sitting on several thousands of junk model a parts. about $2000+ in new parts. lucky me

It's not the end of the world, the subrails can be used, just buy the correct wide rear crossmember for the truck.it looks like you're not afraid of a little work,so have at it.You own it now, might as well make lemonade out of the lemon. No point in paddling 3/4 of the way across the lake then turning around and paddling back.It will be just as much fun to use as a correct one.

I agree with Keith. What if any difference is there between the PU
and tudor cowl, I know the doors are the same.

when I ordered the subrails they are listed to fit todor, phaeton and pickup, but must be cut to fit pickup. I am going to try to post more pictures, but am very discouraged right now. I was told this was a 30 pick up when I bought it, but now believe it was just a bunch of various parts someone tried to use to build a pickup.
