Default 1938 standard guage cluster ?

My 38 standard guage cluster is bright gold color but the speedo is still a gold color but not bright, kind of washed out. Can anyone tell me what color is correct for my car. Thanks for your help.

I believe this is what a '38 standard should look like:

The faded color is exactly that: Faded from the sun. This is why comparison of replacement guages to original is important.

My speedo looks like yours but the guage cluster has a red or brown (color blind) stripe around the center like the speedo and also three very small stripes around the edge which I don't see on yours. The speedo is lighter than yours but the stripes are bright. Go figure.

If I understand and I don't, Ford made slight changes in the face colorings over several years and models. Mine don't match and there is evidence someone changed a cluster out.

There is an ad on eBay that says it is a 38 gauge cluster. It is not the same as mine. It has no larger stripe and the three smaller stripes aren't the same. I guess I'll stick with what I have.

The gauges in my old '38' Pickup (Standard) were slightly different from my '38' Deluxe.
