Default " Old Ford Song"

Hi I hope this thread is consistent with criteria pertaining to the Ford Barn and the Model A. I met with a guy today, as old as my five window Coupe. We talked and then he recited some lyrics to an " Old Ford Song " well I enjoyed them. I went fishing on Google, but my creel is still empty. So here goes a cast into the Ford Barn Pond. Any takers?

I bought a CD about 5 years ago with a lot of old car songs from Model A and earlier. It was put out by some antique music society, but I don't recall the exact name. If I come across the CD I can post more information.

The one I have is "The little Old Ford Rambled Right Along". Have it on an original Victor 78. It's great!

Yes, and you're welcome.
I wonder what's up the that goofy price link. When I bought my CD about 5 years ago they had the price listed on the original website and I just mailed them my check.

I too play "And the Old Ford Rambled Right Along" by Billy Murry. I found this 78 in a pile of records that came with one of my Gramophones--neat.

Default The Little Old Ford - it rambled right along

This song was first sung - Recorded, by Bill Murry in 1915, so it speaks to the powerful place that the new (since 1909) Model T had taken in a society that was still primarily a horse-dominated world. Ofcourse, a couple of years later, you could also hear the record, 'Ray, in his Little Chevrolet'. And then ofcourse, there is that great old hit of Bobby North's 1910 recording of "He'd Have to Get Out and Get Under". Ofcourse he is talking about his car - not his girl ! Ofcourse, the grand-daddy of them all is the 1903 hit - 'In my Merry Oldsmobile'.
- As you might surmise, I have an affliction for old records, songs, and music from the 1903 to 1930 time frame. I hope to figure out how to play this music in my '28 Touring 'one of these days'.

I have a VV 2-55 for that.

Not while you're moving, though.

My favorite... "Cadillacin' Model A." It has been recorded a couple of times. Bob Wills did a great version:

However, I'm partial to the version by Red Knuckles and the Trailblazers. That's a tough one to find.

It is an old crank up phonograph that was made around the time of the Model A.

I thought it was a plane, by the way it wus a hummin'
It was comin' along at a terrible pace, & I knew right then it was the end of the race,
When he flew by & turned the other way,
That guy in the Mercury had nothin' to say,
It was a KID, just out to play,
He was drivin' a HOPPED UP Model A!
Buster T. (Ol' Bill tole me to type this, while he "SUNG" it!!!! OH! my poor ears!!)
