Default Distributor question

Hello,
I inherited my Grandpa's 1928 Model AA truck (has the brake location of an AR).
He passed away recently and this was his project for many years.
It appears that he changed the distributor to the modern point one as in the upper portion (pardon my lack of better vocabulary) there is one of those modern condensers.

My question is, do I need another condenser in the original location too if there is already one by the cam?

Thanks!

No you don't need a second condesor. Your set up is the " modern" points setup. The parts are 67 Mustang or that what I ask for at the local parts place. Condenser and points are v8

Hey Plantguy... Welcome! Some guys who run the modern point setup also install a non-operable "dummy" condenser where the original belongs, just for show. Maybe there's one installed on your distributor?

Here's one you can get from Bratton's, one of the many Model A parts dealers:

Got a picture of your AA?
