Default 1929 Phaeton top Bows

I am restoring a 1928 Phaeton and the the top wood's bows are almost rotted out, therefore is practically imposibe to use them to take any pattern. Does anyone who have prints or drawings with dimensions?.
I live in Argentina and for customs regulations we can't buy this kind of parts from USA.
Thanking you in advance

Dear fellows, I found almost all top bows dimensions. I need only one drow. The first one, who is near the windshield.
Somebody told me that is the same that is used in the roadster model. Does anybody have some drawings or the dimensions of this wood bow? Thanks

My unrestored 28 Phaeton would have the same bows, but with the covering on them is there still something I can measure for you?

Verrece, same here , mine are covered.

We are not ignoring through apathy.

All you really need is the outside overall distance from side of roof to other.

Where the steel ends the wood starts across the windscreen posts .

I lifted my 28 Phaeton top a couple feet today and the way the front wood is wrapped up there is no way to measure the wood. I did measure across the two side rails just as the wrapping ends, and I measured 51 1/8" on the inside of one side to the other. This won't help you much because the windshield posts will set that dimension anyway when the top is lowered and screwed down.

Thanks for the previous answers, but I´m still waiting for somebody who could give me the drawing of the first bow.

You really can't just have the wood pieces shipped to you?

Come up to Houston or Miami to visit and carry them back in your checked luggage...

It may be a customs thing, down here in Australia, customs are big on wood products, whether they are imported through a courier or carried as hand luggage. If we don't declare we cop a fine and the product is destroyed. Argentina may be the same.

Ok on my 29 roadster the repro front bow overall length is 41 1/2". Length inside metal irons 36 15/16". Approx. 2 5/16" wood inside iron. 1 9/16" tall. 7/8" thick. Original front bows are said to have a 1/4" forward crown.

rightly, as Dave in Australia said, for custom regulations, here in Argentina, we can not import wood parts, therefore I must built it. For this reason I need the wood bow drawing,

I have top bows for a '28 most that are rotten and damaged by fire, I'm in the process of replacing/repairing them, the one most forward toward the windshield is charred by fire but I should be able to get you some dimensions, are you still looking?

Teun, I don't think they are the same as a roadster, Mac's has they listed and the are different prices and listings for the phaeton and the roadster. Thanks again!

I’d sure think after 9 years his dilemma is solved! Maybe not!
I’ve had projects that long myself!
