Default "41 - '48 Wiper Motor Mounting

I am in the process of assembling the under dash area of my #2 sedan delivery and would like some help with the mounting of the wiper motor. If somebody would be able to post a photo of how the wiper motor mounts under the dash I would be very appreciative. I have checked all the usual reference and parts manuals without any luck as they only seem to show the wiper motor and the operating mechanism, not the actual mounting configuration in the car.

Thanks in advance, Meric.

Assuming the configuration is identical to a 46 Deluxe, the motor is attached to the upper inside firewall with two machine screws - there should be two factory threaded bosses. The motor is mounted dead center with the lever actuators facing the front of the car. The wiper tower arms connect around the cowl vent mechanism. You'll need to install the wiper switch, with vac hoses already in place, before the motor. Sorry, no pics.

ya they can be a b****t to figure out. once you have it in place and eyeball the arms that attach to the motor you'll see how it goes. laying upside down and everything looks backwards! I think some years the bolt holes are slotted so the motor can be moved L&R to get wiper sweep equal on both sides

Thanks guys for your help, now what I need to know is...

I have a NOS wiper motor and it would appear that there is come sort of steel bracket that goes between the wiper motor and the mounting holes on the underneath of the cowl. I need to be sure that I look for the correct bracket for the motor mounting.

Meric.

41 -46 used a u shaped bracket that attached to the firewall and the wiper shafts that poked through the cowl were "small bezelled". Later 47 and 48 had a special mount with larger bezels. Unfortunately here in NZ the earlier type is more prevelent. I use the later 48 mounting hardware but use a 41-46 motor and as a reseult the wipers do not park at the bottom of the windshield.. they park up by the centr divider.
Attached is a picture of what your set up should be.

later type bracket for 47/48 shown also
