'28-'29: Adjusting the e-brake ?
My emergency brake no longer holds the car on a hill...
Jim Schildt's Model A Shop Manual suggests that the only service adjustment is a choice of two clevis pins holes in the link between the lever and the cross-shaft. Are there also turnbuckles, like on the service brake rods ? Thanks, SC Frank |

Yes, you should be able to turn the turnbuckles in some. Have you checked the condition of the parking brakes? They were really messed up on my 28 and 29 when I first bought the cars.

Re: '28-'29: Adjusting the e-brake ?
Frank,
As long as the emergency brake shoes still have lining you can shorten the brake rods which will bring the shoes closer to the drum. This is ok to do on emergency brake rods but don't do this on the service brake rods. Ron |
