Default '29 Coupe rear spare tire carrier

I need help identifying the correct rear spare tire carrier for my '29 coupe. I looked in the judging standards and they are confusing. I also see quite a few for sale and half of them folks don't know what they fit or there is no number on them. Help identifying what is correct for my car would be appreciated. If you have such an item let me know as well. Picture and dimensions would be great. Thanks

I have a repro off my 29 business coupe that you can have for $15 plus shipping. It has one loose lug but otherwise is clean and straight. They are about $60 from Brattons. It measures 6-1/2" front to back, and looks like the A 1379 in the JS. Send me a PM if you're intersted.

Coming soon in a future issue of Model A News (MARC), will be Part 4 of the Rumble Seat to Trunk Conversion...Part 4 will deal with all of the Rear Wheel Carrier assemblies associated with all types of coupes that came with eiter a rumble seat or a trunk and the time period for which each assembly was related to.

What month of 1929 is your coupe and is it a trunk or rumble seat?

For early 1929 you need the A-1379 that is 8.75 inches end to end on the upper flanges. There is also an A-1379-AR that was issued by Ford as a replacement, which is stronger because the lower stud is enclosed within the casting. The 1930-31 version is A-1379-B which looks similar but is only 7.375 inches end to end as measured on the upper flanges.
