Default "A" Mistress?

Well I knew that title might get some attention.

It's a been a year since I became a Model A owner. I had no interest in Model A cars as I am a Studebaker lover since childhood. I have owned and worked on Studebakers since I was 18.

Old Model A cars were OK but I had no interest...until I met "Myrt"...the name the old lady who owed this car for 76 years gave the car.

I purchased Myrt in October of 2015 and used all the resources of this forum and the vendors to get her running. As of today, we, (wife loves her) have put 876 miles on the car. I love it.

I jump in it to buy a thing here and there, to run an errand, to check on work....maintenance runs if the insurance people are watching. I love this car.

My Studebaker, I have owned since 1980, rests in retirement, as it deserves, since it was the family car for many years, watches the Model A go....go...go. I love the car. The fact that I can't help but think of the men who built her, the time, the thought that she has lasted this long and runs the road like a tiger; the waves, the toots, the entire experience... I have always had something like that with the Studebakers but with Model A there is certain level of reverence that takes it to another level!!

As the Studebaker watches the new girl get taken out as she rests, I can't help but think the A has become my mistress to my true love, the Studebaker.

Two great cars you own. I also like Studebakers and was into them way before my Model A's came along.

Here's a Christmas present you can buy for yourself.
It's out of my price range.

just asking, not trying to be judgmental, but did not Studebakers in the '20s and '30s have a reputation for being an older person's car? they were usually larger-than-average cars, were they not?

I have nothing to compare it to, but how could you do much better than the Model A? Best car ever made, in my very biased opinion.

I know the feeling. I'm an amc hobbyist. And last month I went to a auction for my brother, and bought home a 29 model A. Never gave one a second look before now I'm hooked. My brother has a 25 T . So i guess it was bound to happen. Never knew how amazing these little jewels where.

My first car was a '51 Stude. I drove it throughout my high school years. It took many years but I finally upped my transportation to a Model A and never looked back.
